KSES Holiday Marketplace

Our KSES Holiday Marketplace was a success! We had a great group of vendors, and lots of eager shoppers. A BIG shout out to John Hamilton, owner of Pig & Pie, for donating the delicious BBQ, Chicken, and more to our PTO for lunches. We would like to thank our PTO and all of the volunteers that came on Friday and Saturday to prepare and serve food. Thanks to our 4th Grade Chorus for entertaining our shoppers with Christmas carols in the front lobby. They did a wonderful job!
PB&J Jam

PB&J Jam

Our annual Peanut Butter Jelly Jam was a huge success! We collected 1,408 jars of peanut butter and jelly for The Ark. Mrs. Candy Turner’s class brought in the most. They will get a movie, popcorn, and pajama day along with a front row seat to Coach JoJo getting a pie in the face. Our 1st grade and 4th grade tied as a grade level for the most brought in, so they will also get to be a part of Coach JoJo getting a pie in the face.
Pegram Elementary School was named a Reward School.

PES, KSES named Reward Schools

Pegram Elementary School and Kingston Springs Elementary School were among the 318 schools statewide to earn the Reward School status by the Tennessee Department of Education.

Employee of the Month

Beth Umphers
Kingston Springs Elementary School’s October Employee of the Month is first grade teacher Beth Umphers. Beth is the queen of resources and creativity and always shares her ideas and materials. Who needs Pinterest when Beth is around?! This month she organized first grade’s Pioneer Day, complete with wagon rides and fiddlers from the community.  She also led staff professional development on math running records and numberless word problems. She is creative, inventive and willing to step out of her comfort zone. She is also the mastermind behind our themed faculty and staff gatherings and potlucks.  We are so blessed to have her as part of our Cardinal family.
